Oatmeal Craisin Cookies

Oatmeal Craisin Cookies

I don’t know about you, but one of my least favorite cookies are oatmeal raisin. I am embarrassed to admit how many times I have reached for what I think is a chocolate chip cookie and it turns out to be oatmeal raisin. The ultimate betrayal. I was even more skeptical when my Cran-ma offered me oatmeal raisin lookalikes but promised they were made with Ocean Spray Craisins. It was love at first bite. These oatmeal Craisin cookies are a game changer! Soft, sweet, chewy, a little tang- delicious! As an added bonus, the cookies are so simple to make- they are the only cookie I can’t mess up.

Grab a recipe card. You will want to write this down:

  • 1/2 cup (1 stick) plus 6 tbsp butter, softened
  • 3/4 cup firmly packed brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup (or more, I’m not here to judge) of Ocean Spray Craisins
  • 3 cups oats (quick or old fashioned, uncooked)

Directions

  1. Heat oven to 350°F. In a large bowl, beat butter, and sugars until creamy
  2. Add eggs and vanilla; mix well
  3. Add combined flour, baking soda, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt; mix well.
  4. Add oats and Craisins until combined.
  5. Drop dough by rounded tablespoonfulls onto ungreased cookie sheets.
  6. Bake 8-10 minutes or until light golden brown

It is best to enjoy these right from the oven with a glass of cold milk.
